Winemaker
A native of Bordeaux's Entre-Deux-Mers region, Fabrice Bandiera comes from a family of winegrowers in Castelvieil. Fabrice discovered his vocation at a very young age. His studies were perfectly adapted to his chosen field, which he went into with great enthusiasm, soon after receiving his diplomas. After working at the family property, he joined the Cazes and Axa Millésimes estates in 1992, and was involved in all aspects of vineyard and cellar work. This experience at such prestigious estates as Lynch-Bages and Pichon Baron instilled in him the virtues of rigour and professionalism. He joined the team at Château des Laurets in 1996 as a cellar worker before being promoted to Technical Director in 2002. Fabrice Bandiera has helped the Edmond de Rothschild family's estate wines go from strength to strength for over 20 years, upholding their traditional expertise.
About the Winery
Intersected by a Roman road, it first appeared in historical records at the start of the 14th century. These records show that this former Knights Templar commandery was given to the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem in 1307. In the heart of the Var region, between Lorgues and Draguignan, today the estate spans over 120 hectares, 72 of which are grapevines in a single parcel. Valérie Rousselle has embodied the very soul of the place since 1994. Now supported by her children, she has played a leading role in the revival of fine wines from the Provence. Chateau Roubine is the first Côtes de Provence Cru Classé with biodynamic certification. The first biodynamic trials were carried out around ten years before organic certification, obtained in 2017. Achieving Demeter biodynamic certification in 2020 was thus recognition of a pioneering approach to environmental issues. Amistà rosé reaps the rewards of this work, with the wine expressing the minerality of the clay-limestone soil in a more natural way. Thanks to extremely low sulphite levels, the pleasure derived from tasting the wine is also more intense.
